Next Generation Telephony Systems and Services

This is first release in 1.4 series of DataTechLabs ArrowBilling branch. It features many enchancements and improvements, most significantly - ability to keep CDR database size with predefined limits and dump older records to file.

New Features

Performance Improvements (Added support for Billing and Traffic table rotation. Highly recommended for heavy traffic sites to gain several benefits from using table partitioning):

• Faster response times for OLTP queries.
• User-friendly reports for pre-defined time intervals, better pagination support, order support.
• Configurable rotation interval.
• Improved old traffic log purging & archiving procedure.
• Better billing and traffic record manageability.
• Query performance improvements on dedicated report server.

Note: It is strongly recommended to have Dual Server solution to enable new feature.

New scalability features (It is possible to configure three MySQL servers in billing.ini now. Additional partial replication servers can be used to improve OLTP performance for heavy traffic sites. Administrators have several scalability options):

• Add and configure more radius servers.
• Improve performance for both authorization and accounting by dedicated real time partial replication.

Radius:

• New entry into billing.ini: dont_touch_radius - if enabled, billing will not try to restart or kill radius after new log source was added or edited. Feature may be useful in complex Multi-Server environments.
• It is possible to tie together account groups with NAS'es . This is used in authorization to restrict accounts to use any NAS. They will be allowed to use only selected NAS servers.
• Added new attribute. alwaysUseSetupTimeInAcct. It is boolean parameter which, when set to true, forces to use h323-setup-time for rate item searching in accounting phase.

Remote API:

• Balance display for HS Teliann phones in multi-site environment.

Call-Shop:

• Call-Shop interface allows to do check out now in multiple currencies.

Billing and Invoicing:

• DNIS Surcharge support.
• Changed agent debit limit behavior. Debits to accounts are allowed now but not allowed to exceed accounts available credit limits.
• Allow non-integer quantities for Invoice items.
• Improvements at rate table upload (rate name is checked against duplicates at first stage of upload, table is checked if all destinations has base items).
• Added invoice template sample.
• Implemented feature -- reseller option: possible to display billed duration instead of actual duration for reseller in any call detail or call summary report. Selectable by reseller property.
• New feature: various settings based on each reseller. Accessible via reseller account edit screen.
• Added new tables for individual reseller property storing.
• Added possibility to span enduser call detail reports across more days in same month.

New Protocol and Equipment Support:

• Added source type 8: Quintum Call Relay in accounting only mode.
• End user self-registration available now from tools>options.

Bugfixes

Multiple fixes in many files to complete missing language translations.

Bugfixes merged from 1.3.x branch.

Other changes

SQL schema is MySQL 5.0 compatible.

End-user payments will allow to set mandatory amounts for Paypal payments. Accounts optionally can go to enabled status after payment is made. Both options configurable by tools > options.

Added necessary web interfaces for radius-based routing support (full functionality to be implemented in v.1.5.x only!).

Added favicon and removed footer reference to MSIE.
